Printed by the United States Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and printing, from the actual dies and plates, this rare collection of intaglio bank notes (printed on one side only, not legal tender) includes the following:
The back of a 1918 Two-Dollar Federal Reserve Bank note of a battleship steaming into action is believed to be the World War I battleship “New York”.
The Back of an 1886 Two-Dollar Silver Certificate illustrating the ornate workmanship associated with the 1886 series. This note is of the second issue, which consisted of notes from 1 to 1,000 Dollars of the series of 1886.
The back of a Two-Dollar Treasury Note, engraved by W.H. Dougal, E.M. Hall, A. L. Helm and G. U. Rose. Miscellaneous die #3697 was used to create the $2 Treasury note.
